Soil water quality

ENSPEC Electrical conductivityElectrical conductivity (EC) meters are used to assess the quality of soil water. An accurately calibrated electrical conductivity meter has an electronic probe that is inserted into a sample of water taken from a site. High EC readings mean a high level of salts or ions are present in the water, which may be harmful to plants. Water with low EC readings may indicate low levels of nutrients so plants have insufficient food to grow.
